She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Texas Tech University, and she taught high school Spanish in the DFW area. • Grief and loss
  • Relationship dynamics
  • Life transitions
  • Sexual issues
  • Communication
  • Anxiety and depression

Amy Jo approaches counseling through an Adlerian lens and aims to help individuals make connections and see patterns in their personal history that allow them a clearer view of the present, giving them an opportunity to grow. She believes that with open and honest dialogue, coupled with a client’s effort, that the counseling space can be safe and transformative.

Widowed at a young age with small children, Amy Jo relied on therapy, her faith, and the support of friends and family to walk through the fog of grief. She later had the privilege of working with individuals who had lost loved ones as a group leader in Grief Share. This experience has given her a passion for sitting alongside others who have experienced loss, grief and disappointment.

Amy Jo is married to Scott Wilson who is a consultant by day but whose passion is helping others navigate their journey through recovery. Together they have six children and two fluffy labradoodles. When she’s not cheering for her kiddos on the sports field, Amy Jo loves to walk with friends, cook, and experiment with essential oils. She is a member of the American Counseling Association as well as the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and she and Scott are members of a local church.
