Josh is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a board approved supervisor in the state of Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2007, and his master’s degree in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2012. Upon graduating from DTS, Josh started working at Nikaō where he completed his counseling internship and is in practice to date.
He offers individual and couples counseling for a wide range of age groups. Josh has extensive experience working with both adolescents and adults, and considers it a privilege to come alongside and help any who are in need.
He specializes in:
- Anxiety and depression
- Anger
- Family conflict
- Identity and Spiritual Issues
- Substance Abuse
- Sexual Issues
- Communication
- School-related issues
He believes that a common undercurrent of most issues is a matter of the heart. As the Christian philosopher St. Augustine explains it, God has made us for Himself, and our hearts are restless until they find rest in Him. It is Josh’s desire to help people find victory over their struggles by identifying with God’s grace and forgiveness, so they are free to move forward with His ultimate plan and direction for their life. He strives to meet people wherever they may be on their spiritual journey, and aims to create a welcome and understanding environment.
Josh is a member at a local church and has enjoyed serving in the children’s, premarital, and marriage ministries. He is happily married to his high school sweetheart and they have four children.
